While We Wait 15x30"

This painting is inspired by Mitchell Creek Meadows here in Traverse City, a favorite place near home for a stroll. I remember one warm day reflecting on how lovely the layers of trees, different types of grasses, plants and the creek were. It was all alive with color, movement and life. I feel the landscape itself gave me permission to play with color, to keep my brushwork loose and organic and to allow flowers to spring up in my painting where they wanted to be.

This is a 15x30” original oil painting on gallery wrapped archival canvas. It comes finished in a solid white oak frame handcrafted by local artisan LMBR + HIDE. It will be wired and ready to hang and enjoy.
